We have carried out and are carrying out numerous refurbishments ranging in size from small works within single rooms to large scale works on a variety of buildings including domestic dwellings, Cambridge University Departments and Cambridge Colleges. Our in house team with over 80 years combined experience can provide a complete service and assist in the design stages right through building and services works to completion.
Able Construction has the experience and in-house workforce, including a Quantity Surveyor to complete both large and small scale construction projects within the Cambridge area. We have a vast experience of working closely with local architects, structural engineers and health and safety advisors to ensure a successful, completion on time and within budget. We have the experience and knowledge of working on modern structures, listed buildings and buildings of historic interest allowing us to competently complete projects on the wide ranging variety of buildings found here in Cambridge.
Our directly employed staff include bricklayers, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, multi-skilled maintenance staff and painters and decorators allowing us to provide a complete project package without having to source skills from outside the company. A small operating area and hands-on management by the Company Directors ensures that all of our works are monitored and controlled on a daily basis to a high professional standard.
We currently have a Measured Term Maintenance Contract with the University which covers reactive, programmed, planned maintenance works and a 24hr call out facility. However we also carry out smaller one off day to day maintenance requirements and repairs for both commercial and private clients.
Able Construction's in-house decorating department carry out a complete scope of internal and external applications including specialist finishes and wall paper work. All works are closely monitored and supervised regularly throughout the project by a company director to ensure a high standard of workmanship and finishing to the clients requirements. As the decorating department is part of the company any prior preparations required to ensure a high standard can be carried out straight away by another trade from the in-house team.
Able Construction also has a joinery department which can support and assist our other departments where necessary as well as being able to provide a high quality bespoke service.
Our in-house plumbing and heating department cover all aspects of domestic and commercial plumbing and heating installations from design, installation to maintenance and servicing. Our trained workforce are Water Safe, Gas Safe approved and OFTEC registered in order to provide a competent fully certificated service.
Able Construction's in-house electrical team consist of fully qualified electricians who are NICEIC registered and are able to undertake a full range of electrical works from testing, fault finding and repairs up to design and installations for refurbishments, alterations and small works. All works are compliant with all current regulations and we are able to provide all necessary certification on completion.
